The list at right requires you to press ⌥ Option, ⇧ Shift, and a third key. I mostly do it because “:w” is still muscle memory for saving even after all these years.The list on the left shows symbols you can type by holding down ⌥ Option plus another key. Personally, I am one is those strange guys who uses the Vim extension in VSCode so I’m sure there are plenty more key combos I might use but don’t because I use the Vim approach instead. Ctrl-shift-t will reopen the last closed tab in Chrome. For example ctrl-space also works in Eclipse, Visual Studio, InteliJ, etc. It should be noted that almost every one if these Key combos work almost universally. To navigate by words without selecting, omit the shift. On Windows you can type alt and the character coffee but I find it easier to use the character map. Search for "union"v and you should find the symbol for MQTT. One common example is in the names of companies or individuals so that the entire name is wrapped to the same line regardless of text flow. The Shift + Control + Spacebar keystroke inserts them on a Mac as it does on Windows PC. Double click on the symbol you want to insert. The symbol will appear along with C and F. Go to Edit > Emoji & Symbols OR press Control+Command+Space shortcut combination.
That’s an OS X thing and not implemented by VSCode. Put your cursor where you want to insert the degree symbol.
